Committees

 

Lake & Property Management

The Lake & Property Management committee is responsible for the management of CLC-owned conservation property, including the Chocorua Lake Patrol and the maintenance of all public access areas, the Narrows Bridge railings, and the Little Lake dam. This committee is also responsible for managing CLC’s fee-owned lands in accordance with current Forest Management Plans.

 

Land Conservation

The Land Conservation committee is responsible for the stewardship and protection of existing conservation covenants and easements owned by CLC, and for the identification and acquisition of new easements and other land interests which help CLC achieve its mission.

CMC Trails Committee

The CMC Trails committee is responsible for leading the work of CLC’s Chocorua Mountain Club, including maintenance of six hiking trails CMC has adopted on Mount Chocorua, trails on CLC conservation lands, and trails on other nearby conservation properties. The committee helps CLC staff organize and implement trail stewardship days, and engage in outreach to CMC volunteers and others interested in trail maintenance and stewardship.

Development & Outreach

The Development & Outreach committee is responsible for overseeing fundraising and other efforts which promote membership growth and retention; for developing a diverse philanthropic revenue stream that ensures CLC's financial ability to carry out its mission; and for communicating the Conservancy’s mission, goals and programs to members and to the general public.


Governance

The Governance committee is responsible for the general affairs of the Board of Directors by ensuring that board processes, structure and roles are effective.  This committee is also responsible for managing the organization’s records.

Water Quality Monitoring

The Water Quality Monitoring committee is responsible for monitoring water quality in Chocorua Lake 10 times a season in partnership with the UNH/UNHCE Lakes Lay Monitoring Program.

Finance & Investment

The Finance & Investment committee is responsible for overseeing the fiscal affairs of CLC and the work of the Treasurer.

 

Audit

The Audit committee helps the board of directors fulfill its corporate governance and overseeing responsibilities in relation to CLC’s financial reporting, internal control system, risk management system, and internal and external audit functions.
