Are you available for a flexible outdoor volunteer opportunity that pairs well with a swim or a quiet moment at the lake? Please sign up to become a watering volunteer. You will be part of helping all the new plantings at Chocorua Lake thrive and become resilient.
CLC Stewardship Director Debra Marnich will host a training for watering volunteers at the Island at Chocorua Lake on Wednesday, May 21, at 10 AM. Participants will have the opportunity to identify old and new plants, trees, and shrubs to be watered and cared for, learn more about our new soil water moisture meters, and check out the sign-up sheet for volunteers to use as they come and go to track hours.
Can't come to the training next Wednesday? No problem—if you sign up as a volunteer, we'll be in touch with everything you need to know.
The current plan, which is weather dependent, is to start watering full-time the third week of June and continue for at least 4 consecutive weeks, and possibly longer into the season.
