Volunteer Cleanout Day for AmeriCorps Housing

Come spend a day cleaning out a New England farmhouse to get it ready for two AmeriCorps members to live in this summer.

Help us move furniture and debris from this well-loved home that has been unoccupied for a few years. Lunch is on us!

On Saturday, April 25, from 10 AM - 2 PM join Chocorua Lake Conservancy for a cleanout day of CLC’s AmeriCorps housing site in Chocorua. CLC is delighted to welcome two AmeriCorps members this summer from May to October. Housing has been generously provided to us by a Board member and his family, but the house has not been lived in in several years and needs some TLC. Help us make this a pleasant, welcoming home for these bright, conservation-minded individuals who are living here for the first time.

Meet us at the house, just off Route 16 on the border of Tamworth and Albany, to help us clear out debris and furniture, as well as with general cleaning. Come one or both days, for all or part of the day. We will provide sandwiches for lunch, and snacks. We’ll send you the exact address before the event.

This house has lead paint, which is chipping and peeling in some areas. Children and pregnant people should not participate in this activity. We will provide masks and gloves for work, but volunteers should take care to remove and wash their clothes at home immediately afterwards.
