Weetamoo Trail (CMC)

This trail connects the lower part of the Piper Trail, 0.6 mi. from the parking lot off Route 16, with the Hammond Trail well up on Bald Mountain, and gives access to the open ledges of the south ridge of Chocorua from the Piper Trail.  

Maintenance: The Weetamoo Trail is maintained by the Chocorua Mountain Club (CMC).

  • to Hammond Trail (2100'): 1.9 miles, 1150 ft, 1 hr. 30 min.

Trail details: The trail diverges left from the Piper Trail and crosses Chocorua River at 0.4 mi., then leaves the river and runs through a logged area. It crosses a small brook at 1.0 mi., then passes an outlook to Mt Chocorua and reaches Weetamoo Rock, an immense boulder, at 1.7 mi. The trail ends at the Hammond Trail, 2.0 mi. from the summit of Mount Chocorua via the Hammond Trail, the Liberty Trail, and the Brook Trail.
